Landscapes - Sugarbush, VT & St. John, USVI

These were taken at Bolton Valley Vermont, Sugarbush, VT and St. John, USVI
My intention when taking these pictures was to share it with friends and family.  I wanted these shots to get  them motivated to come out and enjoy the beautiful outdoors with me!  Some of these shots I had a macro approach (the shot with the frozen branch) with the landscape in the background.  Others I wanted to capture the vast mountain ranges of beautiful VT.  Capturing Lake Champlain in there was just a bonus.  Thanks for looking!

  1. Hi Sean,

Wow! Your pictures are beautiful! The one with the windmill has such great coloring. At the bottom of the horizon, the color is brown. Then the color moves to orange, and then almost a pink, before it turns into gray. These colors blend together so well. Also, the wondmill is swet off to the side, and so is the sun. You certainly used your rules of thirds. Those snow pictures immediately made me feel cold. I ski, and I can remember how cold it is when you are up that high. That first pictures sure show just how far you can see from that high up. Great Job.

  2. Your first picture is amazing! Fantastic pictures in all. I just can not get over the first one. I wonder if the third picture would feel different if the person was off center following the rule of thirds how would that have changes the feel. Its wonderful. I like how the 5th one is silhouetted with all the colors in the background. Excellent job!

  3. Awesome landscape photos. The last three are great. The one of the ski lift is definitely my favorite of all of your photos. I like how the sunset is reflected in the windows of the hut. Nice job!

  4. Wow those are some amazing landscape pictures! I love the colors in the one with the ski lift. The third one really amazes me since I am originally form Ohio and have never been to the top of a mountain. Awesome job!

  5. I love the upclose picture of the branches with the snow on them. Did you use a macro setting when you took that picture?

  6. I really dig the photos of the branches ice blown and the one of the powder chimneys. Winter is my favorite season and you managed to get such perfect edges and the over-shadow and high contract on the chimney photos with the rays coming down is just spectacular!
