An interesting insight I found was in order to improve a picture's composition and aesthetic appeal is to use framing. Yes, this is pretty obvious but my father who's really into photography told me framing doesn't have to be architecture of any other inanimate object. He often uses people to frame his photos. He showed me some of when I was young and he took pictures from over my shoulders, using my body to frame a sunset in New Hampshire. Something to think about!
